I’m not nearly the saint some of my fans imagine and I’m nowhere near the devil my detractors wish, so you simply take both of those with a grain of salt.

No matter who says what, you should accept it with a smile and do your own work.

When I was on my way to the podium a gentleman stopped me and said I was as good a politician as I was an actor. What a cheap shot.

I have yet to find the man, however exalted his station, who did not do better work and put forth greater effort under a spirit of approval than under a spirit of criticism.

If you can’t take a good kicking, you shouldn’t parade how much luckier you are than other people.

The art critics on some of Britain’s newspapers could as easily have been assigned gardening or travel, and been cheerfully employed for life.

I just don’t really get into all that sort of personal negative stuff. My job is to outline some positive plans for the country’s future and perhaps Mr. Howard and the Government don’t like the fact that I’m putting out some positive alternatives. What’s their preference.. for me to be a negative carping opposition leader?

We want a national emissions trading scheme, the Government does not and has rejected one for years. We want to boost the mandatory renewable energies target, the Government has failed to do that. We want a national demand side management strategy for the country to reduce electricity consumption and the Government, up until now, has done very little on that score.

Mr Howard’s problem is for so long he’s been a climate change sceptic, how can he, therefore, put himself to the country as part of a climate change solution for the future.

I spent tonight with my family watching the Superbowl.

I was a little disappointed that my Buccaneers weren’t in the game, but I was excited anyway. Everyone I knew was rooting for the Patriots…the undefeated team. Throughout the entire year they were perfect. They won every game, broke just about every record, and pretty much whooped up on everyone they played.

The New York Giants were the total opposite! They finished the year 10-6, actually losing the last game of the season to the Patriots.

But why am I telling you this?

Because tonight, when it really mattered, the underdog Giants came back to win the game in the final minute. Everyone said they couldn’t do it. No one gave them a chance. And with the odds against them, their backs up against a wall…

They WON!

The New York Football Giants are the National Football Champions! And more than that, they area testament to each of us. With everything on the line they played without fear. They took chances and gave it all they had. Even though no one expected it, they beat the perfect undefeated team…when it mattered most.

So, wherever you may be in life right now, don’t forget that no matter what happens to you…you can WIN! Forget what family or friends say, forget about what’s “supposed” to happen and just believe. When you do that, miracles happen. So, hold on to your dreams and work everyday to achieve them…because they really do come true.
